[:id]Pelaksanaan Program Pengabdian pada Masyarakat yang diselenggarakan Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo berlokasi di Desa Oro-oro Bulu (Oro Bulu), Kecamatan Rembang, Kabupaten Pasuruan.
Ketersediaan lahan yang cukup luas di desa tersebut dimanfaatkan sebagian besar warga untuk penanaman pohon dan taman serta memelihara unggas. Skala peternakan di Desa Oro Bulu berada di kisaran rumah tangga sampai dalam bentuk usaha peternakan kecil menengah dengan fokus untuk dijual kembali di pasar terdekat. Jenis unggas yang sering diternak adalah ayam dan bebek.
Fitria Nur Hasanah dan Nuril Lutvi Azizah, tim peneliti UMSIDA melakukan sosialisasi pemahaman mengenai pembibitan ayam dan mengembangkan alat penetas telur sederhana untuk membantu peternak Desa Oro Bulu dalam menghasilkan bibit ayam atau DOC secara mandiri (02/02/19).
Metode pelaksanaan pada kegiatan IbM dari tim peneliti UMSIDA menggunakan metode penyuluhan untuk penyampaian materi yang bersifat teori dan motivasi, dan demonstrasi perakitan alat penetas telur sederhana secara langsung. Kegiatan ini berlangsung sejak bulan Maret 2019 dan masih berlanjut sampai sekarang.
Adanya kegiatan ini diharapkan agar para peternak ayam di desa ini mampu menghasilkan bibit ayam sendiri sehingga bisa mengurangi bibit ayam yang biasanya didatangkan dari wilayah Mojosari dan Kediri.
Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data angket responden diperoleh sebanyak rerata 71.8% menyatakan adanya kenaikan motivasi dan 77.5% menyatakan keberhasilan alih teknologi oleh responden setelah mengikuti kegiatan sosialisasi. The scale of animal husbandry in the village of Oro Bulu is in the range of households up to in the form of small to medium sized farms with a focus on resale in the nearest market. The types of poultry that are often bred are chickens and ducks.
Fitria Nur Hasanah and Nuril Lutvi Azizah, UMSIDA’s research team conducted an understanding of chicken breeding and developed a simple egg incubator to help breeders of Oro Bulu Village independently produce chickens or DOC (02/02/19).
The implementation method for the IbM activities of the UMSIDA research team used a counseling method to deliver theoretical and motivational material, and directly demonstrated the assembly of simple egg incubators. This activity has been going on since March 2019 and continues to this day.
The existence of this activity is expected so that the chicken farmers in this village are able to produce their own chickens so that they can reduce the chicken breeds that are usually imported from the Mojosari and Kediri areas.
Based on the results of questionnaire data processing respondents obtained an average of 71.8% stated an increase in motivation and 77.5% stated the success of technology transfer by respondents after participating in socialization activities.
