Seperti yang dilakukan Tim KKN-T Umsida di desa Janganasem misalnya, mereka berhasil menyukseskan program kerjanya dengan melakukan serah terima pojok baca sekaligus menyumbangkan buku penunjang belajar mengajar di SDN Trompoasri II Kecamatan Jabon, Kabupaten Sidaorjo pada (26/08/19).
Sesuai namanya, pojok baca sendiri ditempatkan di sudut-sudut ruang kelas khususnya kelas 5 dan 6. Pembuatan pojok baca sendiri berawal dari masukan kepala sekolah Shoikhatul Masturoh S Pd akan minimnya minat baca peserta didiknya.
“Setiap pagi di awal jam pelajaran selalu disisihkan waktu 15 menit untuk membaca buku, namun tidak jarang juga dipakai untuk bergurau,” tegasnya.
Pembukaan pojok baca diawali dengan proses serah terima berupa buku penunjang kegiatan belajar peserta didik seperti pepak bahasa jawa, kamus bahasa inggris, atlas, RPAL, sari kata, serta buku penunjang lainnya. Respon positif terhadap pojok baca yang dibuat oleh tim KKN-T Umsida dirasa sangat membantu meningkatkan minat baca siswa.
“Saat proses serah terima tadi, saya melihat ketertarikan peserta didik akan pojok baca yang berada dikelas mereka. Karena pojok baca kami memang di-design semenarik mungkin untuk menarik antusiasme peserta didik,” jelas Habib, selaku koordinator tim KKN Janganasem. (Lintang)

Positive response to the reading corner made by Umsida’s KKN-T team was felt to be very helpful in increasing students’ interest in reading.
